Listening

Listening is an enviable skill;

try it sometimes;

lead with questions insightful;

we all like to talk, let them;

Reaching for words, the mind stumbles on answers;

if you want to help... listen

Our hearts speak through our limbs and eyes;

but uses our voice the best;

troubled mind shares its pain;

spirit wrestles its demons

fluttering through the air;

if you want to understand... listen

Our lives tell a story,

reveals our singular mystery;

the drama of our time spent

displays the value of our currency;

a more mythic story never told;

if you want to learn... listen

Explanations wilt in the abstract,

often far from their mark,

showing the limit of words as symbols;

knowledge is accessible by us all;

if you want to share... listen
